Ningbo Youpu Electronics Co., Ltd. recently disclosed that its annual output of PVC cable compounds has steadily surpassed 20,000 tons. The company also operates 18 PVC and rubber wire production lines, with a daily wire output exceeding 800,000 meters. This achievement places Youpu Electronics among the top players in the Yangtze River Delta region and marks a new height in its vertical integration capability from raw materials to finished wires.
According to the company’s production director, PVC cable compound is the core upstream material for wires and cables; its formulation and performance directly determine the electrical safety and service life of the finished product. Youpu Electronics has built its own compounding workshop, equipped with twin-screw extrusion pelletizing lines and a full set of physical and chemical testing equipment, allowing it to adjust flame retardancy, cold resistance, UV resistance, and other parameters according to customer requirements. In-house production not only reduces dependence on purchased compounds but also shortens product development cycles—for example, when a customer needs a high‑elasticity rubber power cord, Youpu can complete formulation validation and send samples within two weeks.
Behind the capacity increase lies a series of technical upgrades. In the second half of 2025, the company retrofitted two old extrusion lines with servo drives, boosting line speed by 15% while reducing energy consumption by 8%. Currently, 6 of the 18 production lines are compatible with thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and rubber materials, meeting high‑end requirements for medical devices and outdoor equipment. The workshop operates two shifts, and with automatic coilers and online diameter gauges, it ensures a daily output of 800,000 meters of wire while controlling outer diameter and insulation thickness accuracy within ±0.05 mm.
Facing a 40% year‑on‑year increase in orders for wiring harnesses supporting home appliances, power tools, and new energy vehicles in the first half of this year, Youpu is planning to build a new specialty wire workshop. After commissioning, total capacity is expected to rise by another 20%. The company’s sales director said, “Capacity is the foundation for delivery, but we will not expand blindly. Every new project first undergoes small‑batch validation to ensure that ‘Youpu quality’ remains consistent.”
